ABOUT ME

Like a lot of guys, I thought I was in decent shape. I'd been working out consistently for years. I had built some muscle, but I wasn't happy with what I saw in the mirror. More importantly, I didn't feel as confident as I wanted to.
As I started building my coaching business, I realized something:
If I was going to ask other men to trust me with their health, I needed to truly walk the walk. I wanted my physique to reflect the discipline, consistency, and lifestyle I was teaching—without having to say a word.
That's when I had to face an uncomfortable truth–I couldn't out-train a poor diet.
So I made a commitment to myself—for the next four months, I was going to see what would happen if I fully applied everything I knew about strength training and nutrition. No shortcuts. No fad diets. No cheat meals every weekend pretending I was still "on track." Just a structured training plan, proper nutrition, and the discipline to stay consistent every single day. I tracked my workouts. I tracked my nutrition. I trusted the process—even on the days I didn't feel like it.
I thought I only needed to lose five pounds. Instead, I lost 20 pounds! But the greatest transformation wasn't the number on the scale. It was the confidence I gained by proving to myself that I could make a commitment and follow through.
Today, I feel stronger, healthier, and more confident than ever (I'm 38 btw). I feel confident taking my wife out on dates. I feel confident taking my shirt off at the pool or the beach. And I feel confident knowing that my actions align with what I ask of every client I coach.
One thing I want you to know about me is that I didn't achieve this because I had unlimited time. I'm a full-time high school teacher, a husband, and a coach. I know what it's like to balance work, family, and the responsibilities of everyday life while trying to prioritize your health. That's exactly why I don't believe age, a demanding career, marriage, kids, or culture are valid excuses for letting yourself go. They may change how you train, but they should never stop you from becoming the strongest version of yourself.
There were plenty of days I didn't feel like training and plenty of days when it would've been easier to skip the workout or grab fast food on the way home. But discipline isn't about doing what's easy. It's about doing what you said you were going to do. That's why I believe strength training is about so much more than building muscle. It's about building character. When you learn to keep promises to yourself in the gym, that discipline starts showing up everywhere else. You become more confident. You carry yourself differently. You communicate with more conviction. You stop looking for shortcuts and start embracing challenges. The man who can consistently do hard things in the gym becomes the man who can do hard things in life. That's why I created Higher Power Performance.
My mission isn't just to help men build stronger bodies. It's to help them develop the discipline, confidence, and habits that positively impact every area of their lives—inside and outside the gym.
I believe every man has the potential to lead himself, his family, and his future with confidence. Sometimes, all it takes is one decision to stop settling and start challenging yourself again. Once you realize what you're capable of physically, you'll begin to discover what you're capable of becoming as a man.
If I can do this, so can you.
